Goldust Undergoes Knee Surgery

The veteran performer went under the knife Tuesday to repair some nagging injuries.

WWE announced that Goldust has undergone successful surgery on both of his knees Tuesday. The 49-year-old noted on Twitter earlier in the day that he was with Dr. Jeffrey Dugas in Birmingham, Alabama preparing for the operation.

Goldust, real name Dustin Runnels is in his sixth stint with WWE, the first of which came back in 1990. In between those runs, Goldust enjoyed success in companies such as WCW and TNA. He returned to WWE for his current stretch in 2013.

His last match came at a WWE Live Event in Champaign, Illinois on June 16, teaming with Chad Gable and Zack Ryder to defeat Curt Hawkins, Mike Kanellis and Mojo Rawley. He has not appeared in front of the cameras since a backstage segment involving Raw general manger Kurt Angle, Jinder Mahal and Sunil Singh on May 7.

Dugas, who is a part of the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center has been associated with WWE for a number of years now. He has assisted in the recovery of numerous competitors such as John Cena, Seth Rollins, Cesaro and Sheamus.

It is unknown how long Golfust has been working hurt or how long he will be out of commission.
