Wrestling Standard understands that former WWE Champion, Rey Mysterio, has signed a new deal with WWE.
According to our sources, Rey Mysterio is pencilled in to return to WWE soon, after he put pen to paper on a new two-year deal with his former company.
Wrestling Standard has learned that the 43-year-old’s deal will begin on August 1st, with Mysterio returning potentially as early as SmackDown in Brooklyn, two days after SummerSlam.
Mysterio met with WWE officials 10 days ago, when Raw came to San Diego, California. Despite Vince McMahon’s absence at the show, this was when the deal was ironed out, and negotiations were finalised.
The deal is said to be separate from the contract he signed for his involvement in WWE 2K19, as a pre-order bonus character.
